Hand wall basins are attached to the wall in the same way as a standard wall mounted vanity basin with the waste pipe concealed in the wall.
Hand wall basins are also available as a corner basin for greater space saving.
HAND WALL BASIN DESIGN:
• Hand wall basin designs are simple and minimalist.
HAND WALL BASIN SHAPES:
• Hand wall basins are generally semi-circular or rectangular in shape.
• Hand corner basins are triangular in shape. They have a curved front edge and 2 flat sides which fit snug into the corner.
HAND WALL BASIN SIZE:
• Hand wall basins are about half the size of a standard wall mounted basin.
• They have a short projection bowl. The bowl size is quite small, but generally is large enough to use effectively.
TAPWARE FOR HAND WALL BASINS:
• Hand wall basins generally have 1 taphole for a standard mixer tap, or 2 tapholes for single pillar taps.
• The 2 taphole basins can also have a standard mixer tap fitted, either on the left or right hand side. The remaining hole can be covered with a porcelain basin button.
WASTE TRAP OPTIONS FOR HAND WALL BASINS:
• The standard trap most people will be familiar with is a white plastic, or PVC trap, however there are traps available in chrome plated brass that look much nicer.
• Bottle traps are a better alternative. They are very “designer” in looks and will really enhance the wall basin.
