Pedestal basins are a wall mounted basin which have a pedestal attached to hide the pipework. Ideal for smaller bathrooms, pedestal basins are also quite at home in a larger room to create an interesting focal point.
On the downside, there are no additional storage benefits, so if storage space is a big issue then a pedestal basin might not be the best solution.
PEDESTAL BASIN DESIGN:
• There are many designs available to suit traditional, contemporary and modern bathrooms.
• Pedestal basins will generally be made from porcelain or vitreous china, however they are available in stone and some man-made composite materials.
PEDESTAL BASIN SHAPES:
• Traditional style pedestal basins will generally be semi-circular in shape and will have soap holders moulded into the basin.
• Pedestal basins for the modern bathroom can be round, oval, semi-circular, square or rectangular with very simple and minimalist lines.
PEDESTAL BASIN SIZE:
• In general, pedestal basins are fairly generous in size, allowing a small amount of space for storing everyday items.
• Sizes will range from small round or semi-circular basins to large square, rectangle and oval basins.
TAPWARE FOR PEDESTAL BASINS:
• Pedestal basins generally have 1 taphole for a standard mixer tap, or 3 tapholes for conventional tapware. *
